Transplant Hero has been submitted for the BMA Awards!
In under a month, Transplant Hero now has 50 users! This is an incredible milestone and validation of the need of this type of tool for patients. My hope is to improve Transplant Hero to better fit the needs of users with a slated new version release date of early April. Among the new features are:

Transplant Hero is being submitted for the Best Mobile App User Interface Awards. This award will be given to Apps that offer the best overall user interactive experience and provides an opportunity to gauge Transplant Hero's design. While this award will only assess this current design package, I anticipate that Transplant Hero's usability will only improve with successive versions later this spring!
Check out the group forum on Transplant Cafe for Transplant Hero! As always, I am looking for ways to improve Transplant Hero for users. Transplant Cafe is the perfect forum for discussion as it seems to be a robust community. So far I already have 1 friend!

Since joining Transplant Friends I have been deeply impressed by how vibrant and welcoming the community has been to Transplant Hero. Moreover, I am so happy that in a small way I could do my best to help! To this end, please keep the suggestions coming. Since the launch of Transplant Hero, I have learned so much and I feel so grateful to those that have offered suggestions through the "Forum Posts". In keeping with many of the comments, customization of the immunosuppression timing regimen will be a big part of the second iteration of Transplant Hero. Again, thanks for welcoming me into the family that is "Transplant Friends"!

Thank you to the Transplant Recipients International Organization for featuring Transplant Hero in their "Medical and Insurance News" section. If Transplant Hero can do even a fraction of good of TRIO then that stands us in good stead!
Since the release of Transplant Hero last week the response has been overwhelming! Thank you for all of the feedback. In keeping with your suggestions, a new version of Transplant Hero will be available for download later this month.
The new iteration of Transplant Hero will allow users to select heart and/or lung when prompted. I was accused of being "heartless" for not including the heart :). More importantly, there will be a cool new feature that allows users to change the times of there medications! In this way, "twice a day" dosing can be at "9 am and 9 pm" or "8 am and 8 pm" etc...

I am excited to announce the launch of Transplant Hero on the Apple App Store. I developed this App because as a transplant surgeon I saw first hand the consequences of “missing meds”. Essentially, Transplant Hero is an alarm for your mobile device that reminds you to take your most important medications like tacrolimus, myfortic, cellcept and prednisone.
After months of beta-testing Transplant Hero, I now realize how difficult it is to take your medications on time. It always seemed that my alarm went of when my mind was completely focused on something else! I think in this way Transplant Hero is the perfect App for transplant patients because in the end – everyone needs a helping hand.
